¹⁴ When Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, “What’s this you’re doing to the people? Why sit by yourself, alone, with all the people standing around from morning until evening?”

¹⁵ Moses answered his father-in-law, “It’s because the people come to me to inquire of God. ¹⁶ When they have an issue, it comes to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, so I make them understand God’s statutes and His laws.”
